I love people. Most people say I have a "mother's heart". I love to talk about Jesus and what He is teaching me. I love to learn from young adults. They have so much to offer the world. I work much - at a Christian book store and for a Live Blood Analysist.

Obedience

Obedience must be the struggle and desire of our life. (Phillips Brooks)

Isn't that true! Obedience is such a struggle yet there is freedom in obedience. We must desire to be changed in whatever area we are needing to obey in. That is the challenge!

Just saw this "thought" and decided to share it.

Do you want obedience in your life? UMMMM!

Bigger Picture

MANY years ago a young couple went to Provost, AB to pastor a little Anglican church. They were very enthusiastic and many of the young people were radically changed. In fact, one family was shaken. The father was totally upset with the changes in his kids that he all but run the pastor & his wife out of the town. Well he gave them a pretty rough time.

But now for the Bigger Picture....

One of those radically changed young ladies married and ended up in Indonesia as a missionary.

I happened to meet this lady the other night. That young couple who went to minister in her small town happened to be my sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

It was so cool. They paid a price to be true to their convictions and yet God had a plan bigger than even theirs. I was blown away to get this story.

I want to hang in there and be faithful no matter what the cost. We never know what the bigger picture is.

A Day at the Office

Well what a day we had yesterday! It started with an older gentleman who is battling cancer coming in for on "ion cleanse". For those of you who don't know what that is. You put your feet in this little bath of water and there is an ion machine put in the water that draws the toxins out of the body. Your feet have the largest pores in your body and you get rid of lots of stuff that is building up in your body. Because this man has had a lot of chemo treatments, he wanted to get rid of "side effects of the chemicals" put into his body. He also wanted to have his blood analyzed to see how he was progressing. About 20 minutes into all this, he became unresponsive to questions. We immediately stopped his ion and dryed his feet. His wife said this has happened before. She started to pray commanding the spirit of death to leave and calling on the name of Jesus to touch her husband. We also prayed. We asked if we should call an ambulance. We did. As the ambulance was dispatched and we talked to the switchboard and prayer was going up, this man started to come around and slowly spoke "Jesus help". He became more and more alert. His pulse had become very weak. By the time the paramedics arrived, he was doing much better. He became very emotional and just wept. I felt so bad for him. He was embarrassed and felt he was causing all kinds of problems. I'm not exactly sure what happened but I do know he was unresponsive and then after prayer, responded and was able to walk out of the office. We really had thought he was going to die in front of us.

Then Gizmo Williams came in with a client of his to check out what we did. He was impressed. He is a personal trainer now and his client had lost 40 lb since following recommendations to improve her health. Now that was kind of cool.

Another elderly lady came in and wanted a miracle but she didn't want to change anything! Now isn't that childish! She didn't want to drink water, she didn't want to eat brown rice, she didn't want to pay the price for supplements to help her either. I'm thinking ... why did you come here?

So in the course of day...we had quite the spectrum of patients. There have been so many things going through my mind ... How often do I simply have to say "Help me God". How many times do I have to search to check if this is for real? How many times am I so stubborn that I want things my way or forget it. How many times do I want the results but don't want to go through the process of changing to get to the results. Often the results are there for the taking if I with God's help make proper choices.

That was yesterday's lesson. I have another lesson I learned from Tuesday but haven't had a chance to post yet.

Computers!

I guess I should probably say "Operators" of Computers. I have been bogged down with restructuring my books as my computer got a virus and I lost all my books from the beginning of the year. Since I am still not the greatest at operating or figuring out how to be the "fix-it" lady, I lost everything. So I've been working methodically & tediously to get things done "again".

We were able to spend a few days at Sylvan but the weather is more like October than August. We curled up in our motorhome and read books. We didn't want to venture out on the beach. It was so cold yesterday that I went and turned on my furnace. I was sitting around doing nothing either. In fact, I had my oven on its cleaning cycle and and I was doing the Clean The House workout so I shouldn't have been cold. The clouds are still hanging almost to the ground and we are told that it is the jet stream bringing this wonderful weather. Maybe the jets could fly in a different pattern to bring us some warm weather.

Since I've been doing all this "MUNDANE" catch-up stuff, there is not much new to blog. It sure feels good to get the dirt off everything in my house. Sanding plus having not had a chance to clean the last two weeks, my furniture was starting to disappear. Sometimes we just have to do those mundane things to get to the next level ... right? I was watching the news the other night and they showed this house in Edmonton that had tons of garbage in the back yard. Every renter had just dumped their junk in the back yard. What an ugly mess! The neighbors all want the house condemned. I thought "Yep...it's important I keep on top of the mess...like it or not!" Then I laughed as if you saw my back yard right now you would wonder. We have an orange tarp over a car motor, a blue tarp over old furniture on the deck and another blue one covering an old car. We always have a dozen projects on the go. My neighbors are awesome and joke that I need another colored tarp. I hope they are joking! Hopefully soon the furniture can be hauled to the dump.

Anyway...till I have something new...I enjoy hearing from you.

Already?

After the last post ... here is something to confirm ALREADY what was spoken over my life on Monday. A lady came into the store today and here is how "GOD" works.

Several weeks ago I had an e-mail sent to me from Chuck Pierce. I get these all the time but rarely print them but felt I should print this particular one. I brought it to work with me and was hoping to read it myself. It was sitting on my desk and I had briefly looked at it but hadn't delved into it. This lady walked in and we shared back and forth for a bit. She noted this e-mail and asked if she could make a copy of it. I told her she could have it. Well she has been in since then and told me she has been shaken from the inside out. Today she came in again and told me all that has been happening in her life. It is revolutionary for her, for her family and for her community. It is just like this young man spoke over me on Monday. Like isn't that confirmation of how "GOD" works. There is SOOOO much to this as this lady has also travelled and feels there is more to come as she works through to what God is wanting of her to do even for nations. Now this is exciting. I'm rejoicing in this today.

Blink

It is true things happen so quickly sometimes that it is as if you blink and you see a new scene! We have had some incredible things happening. First of all we are winning at getting our new laminate floor in the basement. Second, although my husband hasn't worked for over a month and a half due to circumstances beyond his control, now he has work that may require hiring more help. He has been working for a fellow who has had mega trials...like I'm talking things you read about in novels but can't believe someone would actually have to live. Third, we have been given a year lease for our missions office in exchange for some rennovation work at Vanguard College so it will be much easier to do training and everything right there. It is exciting.

Monday we were able to go to a camp to present NLI and while there it was totally awesome what happened. The speaker who has a prophetic gift had youth speak into our lives. A young guy came and spoke into my life. I had never met this guy before but he said "I see you in this small office. There are people constantly coming and you are speaking to these people and it appears that you are igniting little fires in them. They are leaving with flames on them." I was very excited as I work in a small store and people do come constantly and I believe that the little fires are just whatever words God directs me to speak into their lives ... leave with them. I thought it was pretty cool since I didn't know this young man nor he me! I also work in a small book store so the same applies there.

My husband had a word for Canada that was pretty amazing. I guess another word had been given by another prophetic voice that this has fit with so they want him to publish it. Anyway...it was all neat stuff. I am constantly amazed at the sovereignty of God and yet how incredibly "personal" He is.

So ... blink, blink... tomorrow is another day and it seems that is how quickly times passes ...
